Cappuccino Marshmallows

IMG_3855Depending on what time zone you’re in, I may or may not have squeezed this blog post in in time to have it go live on “Marshmallow Monday.” But better almost late than have to wait a whole other week, right?

I’m not sure if anyone out there is an old school Daily Show fan like I am (I promise I’m going somewhere with this), but before Steve Carell was super big-time like he is now, he did this sketch called “Produce Pete Steve Carell.” I can’t remember many of the details, but it was basically him talking about produce, and it was the name of the skit that still makes me giggle: “Produce Pete Steve Carell.”

Because “Produce Pete” is a catchier name than “Produce Steve Carell,” but, listen, we all gotta make a name ourselves, right?! Name recognition, baby–can’t put a price on that. So, “Produce Pete Steve Carell” was the natural choice. So if this blog post is coming to you anytime after midnight on Monday September 18th, you can just consider this the first installment of Marshmallow Monday Tuesday.

So, cappuccino marshmallows, comin’ atcha! These are double-decker mallows: one layer of Coffeemallows and one layer of straight-up marshmallows, for a cappuccino effect. Have fun with these!

Happy Marshmallow Monday Tuesday!

Cappuccino Marshmallows
Prep time: 35 min | Ready in: 7 hours

Instructions:

  1. Follow the directions for making Coffeemallows.
  2. Make a second batch of plain marshmallows, layering the batter on top of the Coffeemallows. (You don’t have to let the Coffeemallows set for six hours before layering the “foam” plain marshmallows—whip up that second batch right away!)
  3. That’s it!

NOTE: You may want to use a cake pan rather than a jelly roll pan to contain possible extra-fluffy batter.
